Thermography

Thermography services are part of our complete breast health program at Karis Integrative Medicine.

A complete program for breast health includes clean dietary intake, supplements, hormone balancing, self-breast exams, annual clinical exams, annual thermal imaging and any other structural diagnostic imaging. Thermography is not intended to replace mammography or other forms of structural imaging, but rather add a new dimension in the assessment of breast tissue.

Pre-Thermography Instructions

What To Do BEFORE Your Thermography Scan

It is important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure that your thermographic examination is accurate. We thank you for your cooperation. 

​

  1. Avoid being sunburned or having a fever at the time of your examination. Avoid sunbathing/tanning for 5 days before your scan.​

  2. Avoid chiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture, and massage therapy for 24 hours prior to your exam.

  3. Avoid using analgesic creams, balms, magnets, poultice, lotions, deodorants, talcum powder or other skin products for 24 hours prior to the thermogram. Please contact your provider for instructions for discontinuing use if you are currently using a topical hormone of prescription.

  4. Avoid caffeinated beverages like coffee, teas, sodas and energy drinks 4 hours prior to exam.

  5. Avoid all nicotine products and products containing nicotine for 4 hours prior to exam.

  6. Avoid nipple stimulation 12 hours prior to exam.

  7. Avoid shaving underarms for 24 prior to exam.

  8. Avoid showering in HOT water for at least 4 hours prior to exam. 

  9. Avoid vigorous exercise for at least 4 hours prior to exam.
